Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a senior physics major working in the Whitaker Fluid Mechanics Lab at Pomona College, where I study the aerodynamics of flying seeds. I've been interested in physics and mathematics since high school and I'm excited to share these interests with others. I also play cello and enjoy hiking in my spare time.

Fun with Fluids in Splash Spring 2018
Have you every wondered how jellyfish swimming, your beating heart and smoke rings might be related? It turns out that from a fluid mechanics perspective these all use the same thing - a vortex ring! In this class we'll talk about vortex rings and more exciting fluid mechanics ideas. Then we'll get the chance to play with hands on demonstrations and experiments from the Pomona physics department.
