Welcome to ESP

COVID 19 UPDATE: Claremont Splash is still working on what's in store for 2021. We continue to teach, learn, and grow, even with the health and safety measures due to the global Coronavirus pandemic. We are exploring remote alternatives, though nothing is set in stone yet. Feel free to reach out to if you have any questions.

If you are a Claremont Colleges student interested in teaching, you are in the right place.

What is Splash?

Splash is a one-day yearly event during which you will be able to teach high school students "anything" that you are passionate about. We will be hosting this year's Splash on Harvey Mudd's campus.

Why should I teach?

Because it is lots of FUN, you can share something you are passionate about, and you can give back to the community!

When is it?

Saturday, February 22nd, 2020.

What can I teach?

Anything. Yes. Really. Anything.

The whole idea is to teach something that interests and excites you.

Not sure what to teach?

Send us an email at and we'll help you brainstorm. You can also check out the websites of other colleges/universities that offer Splash programs. has a list of all institutions currently offering Splashes. Two good websites to start with are those of MIT Splash - - and Stanford Splash

Do I have to teach the whole day?

No! There are multiple time blocks. You simply have to tell us your availability and number of sections you can and want to teach. You are also invited and encouraged to eat lunch with the high school students (it will be free).

When can I register a class?

Right now! The deadline is February 7, 2020, but please don't wait that long. Registering a class before winter break will enter you in our raffle.

What if I need materials or a special space for a class?

We will reimburse you for up to $30 for materials expenses per class. You will just have to let us know what you need beforehand (we may be able to get if for you). We also have a number of specialist rooms available for classes that involve cooking or movement. Attend our info session or email us at and we can work the logistics out! Please note that unless you specify otherwise, we will assume you require a standard classroom to teach/work in.

What if I don't want to teach, but still want to be involved?

No sweat! You can also be a day volunteer and help ensure the smooth flow of the event on the day. Click on the "HELP OUT" tab above to find out how.
